Paris Triangle Tile Bathroom

Paris Trillium bathroom

Using three colors Lime, Avocado and Copper Patina alternating vertically up the wall the Paris Trillium’s lead your eyes to the ceiling where the Harlequin pattern of the Trillium’s comes to life.

Using three colors, Lime, Avocado, and Copper Patina alternating vertically up the wall, the Paris Trilliums lead your eyes to the ceiling, where the Harlequin pattern of the trilliums comes to life. The 2×6 field tiles are Licorice, with a black pencil liner framing the flowers.

Paris is always a great place to find inspiration. Using the Friends of Terra Cotta Paris tile map, Josh and Layl discovered so many in-plain-sight gems throughout Paris. In the Montmartre neighborhood, the Eglise de St Jean Montmartre,  Josh was awed by the tie facade inside and out. He had always wanted to recreate these tiles to honor that trip back in 2002. This bathroom was the perfect opportunity to create a homage to that trip and the tile design. Even more apt is this is a bathroom in our Airbnb for travelers.

Josh had worked on a historical restoration at the Laurel Building in Minneapolis. He was inspired to recreate the triangle-stamped design from the hearth tiles, which were the perfect complement to the Paris Trillium for this Triangle bathroom

We have a house from the 1930s. The bathroom had lilac tile that was not available at any tile shop I went to. Then I discovered Clay Squared. They sent me a sample, responded to emails with questions and completed the job within the time period they promised. The tile was perfect, the service excellent.

The tile job for my basement bathroom was not one that falls within the norm these days, as I wanted to replicate a 1930s look. I am thrilled with the results and feel that the shading in the Kiwi Green tiles looks historically accurate.
