Dr. Swami Lucky Dougie Padilla is a self-taught visionary artist of Norwegian/Mexican/cowboy roots living in the wilds of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Pepin, Wisconsin. Dougie has been an Artists in Residence at Clay Squared to Infinity since 2014. He is exploring ceramic tile making working with Josh to transfer his ideas, story telling and calaveras iconography work from painting to the clay surface.
He has received the Minnesota State Arts Board Fellowship, several Ofrenda awards form CreArte, Chicano Latino Cultural Center and Museum, the Jerome Foundation Travel Grant, was named one of Minneapolis City Pages’ “Artists of the Year”, and included in TPT’s MNOriginal t.v. series.
