Dougie Padilla

Dr. Swami Lucky Dougie Padilla is a self-taught visionary artist of Norwegian/Mexican/cowboy roots living in the wilds of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Pepin, Wisconsin. Dougie has been an Artist in Residence at Clay Squared to Infinity since 2014. He is exploring ceramic tile making working with Josh to transfer his ideas, storytelling and calaveras iconography work from painting to the clay surface.

He has received the Minnesota State Arts Board Fellowship, several Ofrenda awards form CreArte, Chicano Latino Cultural Center and Museum, the Jerome Foundation Travel Grant, was named one of Minneapolis’ City Pages’ “Artists of the Year”, and included in TPT’s MNOriginal TV series. He resides in lovely Northeast Minneapolis with his extraordinary wife and delightful extended family (including a wonderful coonhound named Stella). He is pleased to live in this world.
