An urban, sophisticated oasis of art and culture.

The Loring Park Art Festival is produced by Artists for Artists LLP, an organization of three experienced artists. The juried festival is a two day event in Loring Park near downtown Minneapolis. The hours are Saturday, 10-6 and Sunday 10-5.

The Festival consists of 140 visual artists displaying their orginial work in 12x12 booths, strolling musicians, scheduled stage performances, children's activities and food booths. The art work presented will be from a variety of media including painting, photography, printmaking, handmade paper, wood, jewelry, clay, sculpture, fiber, mixed media and glass. Within these categories will be a variety of styles from traditional to abstract in a variety of price ranges with the goal being "something for everyone."

Loring Park, with its beautiful ponds and formal gardens, makes an idyllic setting for art and music and the Loring Park Art Festival offers the greater metropolitan community an opportunity to enjoy this oasis just west of downtown Minneapolis.

Sign up two people for $100

You will learn several simple techniques like the jellyroll, checkerboard, stripes, and bulls eye. We will incorporate these techniques into more detailed designs to make flowers, stars, butterflies and even a simple face design! I will supply the clay, pre-conditioned and pre-mixed, so we can learn a lot in one night. You will also learn some color mixing techniques and secrets. At the end of the class you’ll have beautiful canes to make into beads, buttons, magnets, or use to cover objects.

Artists’ Circle is an association of fine craft artists who live and work in Minnesota and western Wisconsin. Artists’ Circle serves as an educational advocate for fine crafts; plus it promotes venues for the exhibition and sale of work by local professional fine craft and fine art artists. Originality, craftsmanship, creativity, skillful use of materials, as well as presentation and sale-ability are the professional criteria.
The organization produces juried art fairs, including the highly regarded Art at Ramsey (since 1995) and Art at Highland (since 2000) in conjunction with Saint Paul Community Education; and Art at Shoreview (1999-2005, 2007) in cooperation with Gallery 96 Art Center in Shoreview.

This year marks the 39th anniversary of the College Hill Arts Festival, held on the tree-shaded campus of the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, Iowa.  The College Hill Arts Festival is a juried event of 75 artists who are chosen by a panel of three independent jurors.  A wide variety of original works including pottery, ceramics, wood, jewelry, metal sculpture, painting, photography, and glass, from some of the nation’s best and most talented artists is offered.

Ages 8 to 98 will learn magical techniques with colorful oven baked clay. Roll, flatten, wrap and then slice to reveal amazing designs like stars, flowers and swirls. Then take your slices and cover anything you choose from the collection of objects including frames, jars, boxes, utensils and pins. Or make a creature like a frog or owl!
