This Cosmic Tree featured in Minneapolis St. Paul Magazine in the Basel's home was one of the first cosmic tree concept pieces. These unique vertical tile art pieces fit well in stair wells and other tall ceiling areas.

Josh wanted to create a tree within a tree.
Stingray tree
A mix of thick silver lines, Matador Red on one side,
Spanish Moss and Federal Blue on the other.
The piece was an attempt to create a large tree with double imagery within the work.
Josh has done a number of designs based off the work of Karl Blossfeldt, this one influenced by barley photographed by Blossfeldt. This work has many variations of iridescent silver and carmel colors. The silver metallic gives it a very graphic look.

THE STORY OF COSMIC TREES
Cosmic Trees came about from experimenting with vertical tile shapes and sizes. Taken from the Cosmic Cloud series idea of the chemical reactions created when glazes fuse together at almost 2000 degrees, no two cosmic trees are alike. And Josh is always interested in custom designing trees for unique spaces.

INSTALLATION
Installations of Cosmic Trees come with
a 3/4" wood mounted block attached to it for easy hanging.
All trees features have about 1" to 2" space between
the tiles.
