BEGINNING MILLEFIORE CLASS

$50, supplies included

You will learn several simple techniques like the pin roll, checker board, stripes, and bulls eye. We will incorporate these techniques into more detailed designs to make flowers, stars, butterflies and more! I will supply the clay, pre-conditioned and pre-mixed, so we can learn a lot in one night. You will also learn some color mixing techniques and secrets. At the end of the class you’ll have beautiful canes to make into beads, buttons, magnets, or use to cover objects.

No previous polymer clay experience needed.

Polymer Clay Pen Class

$35 supplies included

Ages 5 and up learn basic Millefiore designs like a star and a checkerboard and then use them to decorate pens. Learn all kinds of fun ways to make a regular bic pen into a work of art. Even add some demensional creatures to the ends. You also get to use the endless scrap pile of Silly Millies! Great presents for teachers, grandparents and friends!

BEAD and BUTTON MAKING

Learn several new polymer clay techniques that you can apply to bead and button making. Learn how to poke the perfect hole including drilling through baked beads. Experiment with millefiore technique, foils, glitter and Pearl-Ex. Also learn some interesting shapes you never thought possible. No previous experience necessary.

Cat Ornament Class $35 supplies included Imagine the colorful kitty that you can create from a pile of polymer clay! I’ll teach you some basic millefiore techniques and then we’ll get out the scrap pile and make several different cats in different poses that you can hang any place that needs a little cat-ness. Dragonfly and Butterfly Canes $60 supplies included Make two canes that are about 1/2 a pound each. One will be a beautiful colorful butterfly and the other a detailed dragonfly. Layl will have lots of colors pre-mixed and you can let her know if there is a particular color scheme you'd like her to mix for you before we start. This is a great class to take after you have learned some basic techniques and you want to get just a little more complicated with your millefiore canes. Face Cane Class $60 supplies included Learn how to make a face cane in one afternoon! Even if you have never touched polymer clay you can learn the magical technique of millefiore and what could be more fun than making a face! Layl has lots of tricks to help you be successful and have lots of fun. This class also comes with a very detailed handout so you will be able to make more faces later on your own. Cat and Dog Wall Sculpture Class $50 supplies included Whether you want to celebrate your favorite furry friend or make a silly gift for a relative you will have a great time learning new polymer clay techniques and watching the pile of color turne into a pooch or a kitty. You can bring pictures of a pet you want to emulate or just your imagination. Learn a few basic millefiore techniques and use Layl’s endless scrap pile. Ages 5 and up welcome! Kids' Polymer Clay Class $30 supplies included Ages 5 and up can join us for lots of fun with polymer clay. Learn basic millefiore designs and then slice them up to make fun projects. You will also get to use Layl's endless scrap pile of colors to create fabulous glass vases, small frames, knobs, and/or utensil handles. Or bring something of your own to cover! Color Concepts Class $40 supplies included Learn some tricks to mixing the colors of your dreams! Layl will teach you some interesting color techniques which include using other mediums to add color, such as acrylic paint. She will also give you some intersting color mixing exercises to increase your color knowledge. End the night with a pile of fun colors to play with on your own and a few simple polymer canes. Wingy Dingy Class $40 supplies included Everyone needs a wingy-dingy and now you make your own! Her body and head is clay and her wings can be feathers. Then she has copper legs and arms and hair that goes all over in swirls of colored wire. Sun Sculpture Class $60 supplies included Create a 5 to 7 inch sun with lots of glitter and polymer clay! Learn Layl’s special sculptural stuffing technique and glitter techniques. Plus create your own millefiore kalidescope design to use on some of the rays of your sun. You will also use some of Layl’s scrap pile for details like the eyes and mouth. Pet Millefiore Cane Class $75 supplies included Imagine what you could do with hundreds of slices of clay with tiny pictures of your cat, dog, rat or gerbil in it? Make lots of magnets for everyone you know, cover switchplates all over your house, use slices in your scrap book, make jewelry of all kinds, the possibilities are endless. You will make a one to two pound cane of your pet and learn Layl’s special reducing technique. This class is advanced so it is recommended that you either take one of Layl’s other classes or have some experience in cane building.
